Every class at BT Martial Arts is taught by Master Bryn Tiemeyer himself — 5th-degree Taekwondo black belt, founder, and head instructor in Allendale, MI.
One master. Every class. Every student.
Master Bryn is the only instructor. He teaches every student who walks through the door — no assistants, no franchise hires, no shortcuts around the tradition.
The Origin Story
Why this dojo exists.
Bryn started Taekwondo at age 5. He was a shy kid from a large family — the kind of kid who got overlooked, who struggled with anger, who didn't quite know how to move through the world.
Martial arts changed all of that. Not overnight. Slowly, over years of training. The art taught him character, focus, and how to carry himself.
He opened BT Martial Arts in 2020 with one goal — give every kid who walks through the door the same foundation that was given to him. Keep the art traditional. Keep the school warm. Never compromise either.

Teaching Philosophy
Three things he holds the line on.
Every instructor has principles they won't bend. These are the ones that shape every class at BT Martial Arts.
Two classes a week, by design.
"More than that burns students out. Kids stop owning their progress — they just show up and get critiqued." — Master Bryn
The result: students practice at home. They come back hungry, not fatigued.
Bully prevention, not bully creation.
"Kids leave here with the competence to defend themselves AND the self-discipline to handle conflict without escalation." — Master Bryn
The method: de-escalation drills, role-play, and real self-defense — so kids know when to walk and when to stand.
Cross-training that compounds.
"Martial arts builds detail-orientation, mobility, and body control. Every other sport your kid plays gets better." — Master Bryn
The proof: Master Bryn walked onto high school football with zero experience and outperformed 8-year players. See below.
Proof It Works
Taekwondo gave him a competitive edge in football.
Freshman year of high school. Master Bryn tried out for the football team with zero prior experience — and outperformed kids who'd played since age 8. The reason: Taekwondo had already built the detail-orientation, hip mobility, and body control football doesn't train. That same advantage is available to every young athlete here.
"I grew up shy, in a big family. Martial arts taught me character, focus, and how to carry myself. I want the same for your kids."
